Seth's Nursery

I got the inspiration for Seth's Nursery when I was organizing a baby shower for a friend of mine. The yellow and gray really spoke to me. And I loved the idea of elephants. In order to do the room the color I wanted, first we had to find bedding. Sean amazed me and took care of that. The next was other inspirations to pull the room together.

We used pinterest for a few items. And just a plain ole' google search for others. You would be amazed at what you can find when you type "yellow and gray nursery". The one item that eluded me was the back wall. We needed something eye popping that would really stand out. A friend of mine helped us. She sent me the link to a nursery that had these birch trees in the background. I was able to find the exact wall decal and was too excited. Unfortunately, I waited too long and the seller stop selling them. Luckily I was able to find another one that was similar.

Sean's dad and stepmom brought the light fixture from Minnesota when they came to visit. And they also helped us to start putting the decal up. This was a feat! Every tree is multiple pieces...the tree is two pieces and the branches were separate...as well as the leaves! Anyway, after the decal was put up the room was close to being done. I am amazed at how many pieces came from people we love. For example, the light fixture, the canvas on the middle shelf, the elephant bookends, all the books, the blanket on the glider, the plaque on the 3rd shelf, the toy on the first shelf..you get my point. :)

The other items that I am proud of are the toy blocks and the letter "S". I decoupaged them all with scrapbook paper I bought. I think they help to bring the room together. Tell us what you think in the comments. And remember the room is not done. We still need to put up curtains and add a few small items.

Welcome back..welcome back....

I know, I know...it has been a while. Well we have been quite busy. With the holidays and having folks over..we have been a bit slammed. We also took a trip to SC which was fun and not too stressful (was not sure how the trip would go). Seth ended up sleeping almost the whole trip down and then again on the way back.

Recently the little guy started daycare. It was most stressful for me although we went the week before to help me with the transition. That same week I went to Chicago for an AVMA council meeting. It was SO HARD leaving the little one! OMG! I kept staring at people with babies (hopefully I did not look too crazy). I also would strike conversations up with people just so I could show off pictures of Seth..lol!

So here are a few pics...and I will try to do better in the coming weeks :)
