Honestly this morning was almost like every morning. Although it did feel a little lighter with a few less tantrums, meltdowns (sometimes my own) and arguments (I mean, someone has to feed the dog).
The morning began with Sean waking me up (twice). Once I was up, we heard a door slam and then crying. Instead of opening the door, Seth closed it on himself. Sean quickly went to get him and in doing so got the first cuddle of the day (I was circling them trying to get in on it to no avail). So while they cuddled I started breakfast for the munchkin. A few minutes later I gave him a waffle, cup of applesauce and some OJ (cuddle time over). They commenced to making my breakfast, but not before Sean reminded me that I promised to walk Zeva (I hate apartment living). So dog walked...trying again to make my breakfast. Sidenote: I have to mention that I had the most awful sneezing fit and Seth now says bless you...so cute!
Finished my breakfast, only to have the munchkin demand something. He was very adamant about whatever it was he wanted...and I could not figure it out. He was escalating, so I knew I had to think quick. "Cereal, do you want cereal?" Munchkin: "Yeah" ::we both do a happy dance:: The dog sneezes and Seth says, "Bless you Zeva" (OMG, too cute) I proudly take the cereal over and he cries and pushes it away...huh? But you said you wanted cereal. ok, he's escalating again, I'll just take it away. He gets madder and my breakfast is getting cold. I set it down and run for the kitchen...all seems to calm down. I sit and eat my breakfast, before I go to get dressed we have a little tickle fest!
He comes into the bathroom and see Sean and I brushing our teeth and he wants to bbbrush. The ways he says it, you can barely hear the "r" but it does not sound like bush...too cute! And we give him his toothbrush with his kids toothpaste and he actually brushes..I mean instead of sucking off the toothpaste.

Sean leaves to get dressed and Seth follows him. Once again he requests to see Airplanes (even thought it's playing in the living room). So Sean puts on Disney. Seth seems content until the first commercial comes on. You see, we don't watch alot of live TV, so he is not used to commercials. We watch prime alot with him. His shows Dinosaur train and Thomas the train (notice the pattern) are on there and commercial free. So when he saw a commercial he actually became distraught. He was like, " Daddy off." Sean was like, "yea buddy, your show went off but it'll come back on". And then there was the whining and general unhappiness until the show came back on.
Sean then went to get him dressed, which is usually harder than wrestling an oiled up 500lb pig. But this morning was not too bad..well not at least until Seth saw me put on my necklace. He said, "mine" and commenced to trying to pull it off my neck. So being the sucka that I am, I took it off and put it around his neck. He wore it for a few minutes and gave it back (who knows what goes on in a toddler's mind..guess he is reminding me of who really runs the show).

A few more cuddles, one shoe on the baby, calling the dog so I can walk it, toddler begging for a snack, other shoe on, where's the baby's jacket, calling the dog once more, baby crying for mommy, baby crying for stickers, where's the dang dog, where's my keys, take the dog out, more crying from baby, baby wants mommy, put him in the carseat in Dad's car and I'm off.
All of that and I made it to work on time...early even...the first one even!! I count that as a great morning and certainly better than a cup of coffee.
